#98 Ptolemy's Gate

This is the third book in the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathon Stroud. I would reccommend reading the first two before this one since they do follow a chronology. This is a young people's fantasy fiction book series. It can get quite dark (especially the first and second in the series), but the characters really draw you in to their lives and struggles. Set in England (of some unspecified time period), Wizards are the ruling class and the noble class. If you have no wizrding ability you are a commoner and not worth much. You have no say in the government and socially you stick to your own lowly kind. But now a revolution is afoot. Commoners have been teaching themselves wizardry. The end of this book leaves the whole story wide open for a second trilogy or series dealing with this world. This series is appropriate for 10-15 year olds.
